Mulinu'u Point is located at the tip of the small Mulinu'u Peninsula on Upolu island in Samoa. Historically, it served as the site of colonial administration in Samoa during the 1870s and remains the location of the Fale Fono, or Parliament House of Samoa, as well as the Lands and Title Court. At the peninsula's tip stands the meteorology office, initially established in the late 19th century as an observatory. The peninsula also houses several important tombs, including that of a previous head of state. The population of Mulinu'u village is less than 100 people. Situated on the central north coast of Upolu island, it is part of the urban area encompassing Apia, the country's capital. A MAPCO2 system was deployed just off Mulinu'u Point in February 2020 at Apia-K1 station as part of a joint effort between the Samoa Meteorology Division(SAMET)/MNRE, the Korea Institute of Ocean Science and Technology (KIOST), and SPREP, under the OceanAID project funded by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries of the Republic of Korea.
